Dubai to welcome GenNext Kings’ Cricket Academy for aspiring and budding cricketers.
Ravichandran Ashwin, the brand ambassador and chief mentor of GenNext Kings’ Cricket Academy, founded in Chennai, India has announced the opening of a Dubai based cricket coaching center in partnership with Kings’ Schools. This facility will provide best-in-class coaching along with world class infrastructure for cricket lovers in and around Dubai.
The primary aim of GenNext Kings’ Cricket Academy is to encourage students to develop their love of cricketing by providing them expert guidance and state of the art cricketing facilities. Ashwin and his coaching team will personally be involved in designing the curriculum for the academy, which will closely resemble the regime he follows in his professional career. Ashwin will personally be training the young and budding cricketers at the Kings’ Schools several times a year.

The Director of Cricket at Kings’, Kobus Oliver will take charge as the head of the Academy. This Former CEO of Cricket Kenya brings in over 36 years of cricketing experience that includes 16 years as a professional player in England and 20 years of coaching experience for National Youth Team, Holland and Director of Cricket at Cape Town University.
Oliver expressed, “As Director of Cricket at Kings’ this academy offers me the opportunity to put a sustainable coaching program in place, where we can offer students the opportunity to develop their cricketing skills under the guidance of internationally qualified coaches as part of the school cricket programme, as well as the academy programme. This will ensure that the students get the best possible coaching experience during their time at Kings.”
The GenNext Kings’ Cricket Academy will be the first and only cricket academy that is an extension of a school cricket program. Besides providing excellent coaching programs under the supervision of highly qualifies coaches the academy would also have state of art infrastructure which includes four indoor and six outdoor astro-turf nets, bowling machines, high speed cameras for video analysis and facilities for lecture, gymnasium, changing rooms and a clinic manned by qualified medical professionals. A cricketing oval and multiple outdoor turf pitches with floodlights are also planned for phase 2.
